Know Before You Go

Magic Kingdom is THE park in Walt Disney World. This is the park that brings children and their parents from all over the world to see Mickey, Minnie and all of their friends. Magic Kingdom is usually crowded and rarely has non-busy days. Plan on higher wait times, longer lines and lots of frustrated faces. Planning is the key and lots of patience. We used to recommend certain days of the week and certain times of the year, but those times rarely exist any more.

Bring snacks to help you get through the day, but don’t forget to enjoy the many great snacks that Magic Kingdom has to offer. You are welcome to bring water and you should especially during the summer when temps reach triple digits. You can always get free cups of ice water at any walk up counter, if you don’t want to lug around extra water weight.

Magic Kingdom can be the make or break of many family days and without proper planning, things get get very stressful. Cranky kids can make a long day for everyone. Taking a midday break to let everyone rest and cool down can do wonders for everyone. If you are at Magic Kingdom, hop on the Resort Monorail and shoot over to the Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian Resorts. They are all just a quick monorail ride away and each offers, cafes, chairs, couches and best of all Air Conditioning! You don’t have to be a resort guest to stop by and enjoy the amenities, you just may not be able to access certain guest areas like the pools. Many pools are locked and can only be accessed by the appropriate magic band.

Use your My Disney App to your advantage. Look closely at wait times and mobile order your food when you can. Genie + and Lightning lanes are great add ons, but they are not always the best choice for some.

Bibbidi Boppidy Boutique is back open again and offers children (3-12) a unique opportunity to be transformed into their favorite princess, pirate or Knight. Costumes are only available here now, no one else in the world offers them. If you don’t want to pay a higher price, bring one with you, or order them online.Reservations are very hard to get, there is a facebook group dedicated to just this location if you cant find one.

Most people need to recharge their devices at some point during the day, so most restaurants have outlets available and there are charge ports down near Rapunzel’s bathrooms. Disney does offer portable power packs for $30 and you can swap them out at any location. See more information HERE.
