Epcot – Know before you go
I think that Epcot is one of the most underrated parks in Disney World. While it is often at the bottom of the list for those with small children, there is so much to explore and see. With Epcot’s retheming we now have new names for each of the areas. Epcot is now made up of World Celebration, World Nature, World Discovery and World Showcase.
World Celebration
World Celebration is the first area that you walk into when you arrive at Epcot. Spaceship Earth is of course the most prominent fixture and the symbol of the Park itself. Just past Spaceship Earth you will find the new Dreamer’s Point where you can see a statue of Walt Disney looking out over World Showcase. In 2023, we saw Journey of Water , Inspired by Moana opening in the gardens closest to World Nature. This self-guided walk through of Moana themed water attractions is sure to entertain even the little ones. The new Communicore Plaza and Communicore Hall still due to open will contain lots of seating for those wanting to rest their legs and charge their devices. To the World Discovery side you will find the new Connections Cafe and the Creations Shop.
World Nature
In 2023, we saw attractions such as Journey of Water , Inspired by Moana opening in the World Nature. A self-guided walk through of Moana themed water attractions, sure to entertain even the little ones. Other areas in World Nature include The Land Pavilion, housing the Living with the Land Ride and crowd favorite Soarin. To either side you have The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Journey to Imagination.
World Discovery
To the left side of the entrance you will find World Discovery. Here you will find all of the thrill rides. Guardians of the Galaxy, Mission Space and Test Track.
World Showcase
World Showcase has eleven countries to visit, each featuring its own food, drink and souvenirs. World Showcase features three rides, Three Caballeros in Mexico, Frozen in Norway and Remys in France.
The Lagoon reveals the new show Luminous each night starting at 9pm.
Epcot always has some festival going on featuring food and drinks from all over the world. Booths are setup all over World Showcase to sample all kinds of treats, but don’t be fooled, Epcot has some of the best food in all of Disney. Make sure you get your reservations early though, because they will fill up fast. One of the most interesting is the new Space 220 located next to Mission Space. This Lounge/Restaurant takes you 220 miles up above Epcot to dine and drink in Space. Get your reservations in at the 60 day mark or you may not have a chance.
